Gestation and lactation feeding:

A pregnant queen should be fed to satisfy her appetite with several small meals throughout the day. While nursing her kittens, the queen's demand for nutrients and energy will increase dramatically. She will need to eat up to three or four times her normal maintenance ration to ensure that she can produce enough milk for the kittens and maintain body condition. Continue the extra feeding until the kittens are weaned before gradually cutting back on the additional food until she is eating her normal amount. Watch for any signs of weight loss or gain and adjust her meals accordingly.
